WeedSmart Week Mildura

WeedSmart Week brings together a wealth of knowledge and experience from local and interstate growers, agronomists, and technology experts – putting the spotlight on herbicide resistance and weed control.

This year, our annual flagship event will be held in Mildura, Victoria from 30 August to 1 September 2022. WeedSmart Week is designed to engage growers and advisors on the WeedSmart Big 6 messages.

The event will start with a 1-day forum at the Mildura Arts Centre. The second day will include a machinery expo and farm tours with prominent growers of the Mallee region showcasing their farms and sharing their innovative weed control methods. At the machinery expo, growers will speak about their experiences with the latest in spray and camera technology, impact mills and other mechanical weed control tools.

There will be concurrent events on the third day with attendees choosing between either a broadacre or horticultural tour. The broadacre farm tour will visit three farms with the farmer or farm manager outlining their weed management practice within their farming systems.

The horticulture-focused event will include visits to two orchards, with presentations on spray technology, fleabane biocontrol options and alternatives to glyphosate. This day will include a networking lunch, with presentations and discussion.
